Two of LA’s up and coming comedians Matt Ingebretson and Dave Ross are both vastly inexperienced in fighting as well as fencing. That’s why they did a video where they do exactly that and consequently why we’re posting it as it’s pretty damn funny.
As part of YouTube’s #ComedyWeek, the hilarious Andy Daly will not only be improvising in a live streamed show, but there will be a preview of his upcoming Comedy Central series “Review”.
It all starts at 6PM PST tonight at youtube.com/comedyweek. Pretty sure you won’t want to miss this.
Amazon is finally giving series orders out to their pilots. Alpha House and Betas are only two of the 8 original comedy series that Amazon started with.
We’re still waiting to hear about the others like Those Who Can’t.
Congratulations to Carol Burnett for being set to receive this prestigious honor from The Kennedy Center, The Mark Twain Prize for Humor. A whole generation of young folks will hopefully either know who she is and why she deserves the award or learn it as a result of Burnett getting this prize.
For years, Andre Hyland has been playing inimitable Jesse Miller, talk show host, talent manager, self-proclaimed straight up bad ass, Brad Pitt/Bengals fan, etc. as part of The Jesse Miller Talk Show. It’s certainly one of our favorite things to watch around town and here’s a reel of all the hilarious insanity that has gone down from Miller/Hyland to show you why.

The hilarious Candice Thompson joins Jake and Jeremy again despite having her car not starting the last time because they played her car radio while the car was off. Without having to worry about calling AAA, they get to riffing on clap talking, white guilt jumping the shark, spotting “chiggers”(?), and more. Also, FYI, Urban Dictionary wasn’t that helpful when they were doing real life “research”.
The PBS documentary on comedy legend Mel Brooks featuring Mel candidly “…giving American Masters exclusive interviews and complete access to his film and photo archives.” is on tonight. ‘Make a Noise’ premieres at 9PM on PBS tonight and if his episode of WTF w/Marc Maron is any indication, this will be really good.
One of LA’s best live comedy shows, Holy Fuck, recorded an album this year and it’s finally coming out with all its hysterics in a double CD. Over 40 tracks featuring the likes of the very funny Sean Patton, Moshe Kasher, Kyle Kinane, James Adomian, Beth Stelling, Eric Andre, Lizzy Cooperman, Matt Braunger, Hasan Minhaj, Michelle Buteau, Jackie Kashian, Rory Scovel, TJ Miller, Holy Fuck creators Dave Ross & Jeff Wattenhofer, and much much more recorded live at Holy Fuck’s home, The Downtown Independent Theater.
We were there for the tapings and it was pretty great. You should pre-order this now in either Deluxe Box Set, CD, or Digital Album, now from Rooftop Comedy for when it comes out next week.
It’s sort of odd to us that Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show was born in LA and then toured the world to become a TV show in the UK and Australia and is only now distributed to the US, but we’re glad that it finally happened thanks to the Nerdist YouTube Channel.
